FUSION ENERGY ~ THE PUBLIC'S GUIDE(TM) The Children's Series(TM) Books and Early STEM Education

FUSION ENERGY ~ THE PUBLIC'S GUIDE(TM) The Children's Series(TM) consists of 6 books for ages 3 - 5, and possibly as late as ages 5 - 8, depending on the early exposure of the child to the concept of books and reading, as provided by the parents.

In Prof. Davis' Children's Series(TM), the first three books provide the earliest STEM education that can be envisaged in nuclear sciences, as many high I.Q. young children begin reading on their own by age 2 - 3, having been exposed to the the concept of "books," "library borrowing on a card," and the written word by their parents during the first three years of life.

The earliest advocates of early age reading provided the philosophical foundations of early childhood education as taught by John Amos Comenius, John Locke, and Jean Jacques Rousseau.

More modern early child educators such as Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi, Friedrich Froebel, Maria Montessori, and Rudolf Steiner all believe that the first three years of life make or break a child's inherent capabilities to understand the written word by the time of entrance into the first grade, and many children often can read on their own by age three, providing them with a further advantage of being able to start formal schooling by age 3 or 4.

In addition to the early educators mentioned above, the peer reviewed clinical literature has proven that the first three years of a child's life is absolutely critical to the capabilities the child will develop and be able to exhibit in later grade school education.

In cases where the parents do not read or read well, their children may not receive this earliest exposure to books and/or the concept of reading to learn until much later at ages 7 or 8, and therefore are not able to learn as quickly as their peers who had the earlier reading capability development. .

While developing these first six books in her Children's Series(TM), Prof. Davis worked with world-renowned early child educator, Dr.
, Emeritus, who had taught in the Department of Early Child Education at University of Pittsburgh, Pa. During the years 2002 - 2004, while author Prof. Davis was working on developing The Children's Series(TM), Dr. __________________'s helpful pointers and direction to the peer-reviewed clinical literature provided a great deal of quick understanding into the learning processes of early aged children" 1 - 3 years old.

Understanding how young children learn was an "education" in an of itself and was certainly a challenge to Prof. Davis, who has, nonetheless, endeavored to bring her own love for books and reading into her passion of nuclear science and technology, as an early learning resource for these youngest of child learners.

Teaching a child to read and recognize words can begin as early as age one and one-half, as experienced by Prof. Davis, herself, in addition to some of the clinical researcher-authors who wrote about their own experiences in teaching their children to begin to read at age one and one-half.

Teaching a child to read and to have a love for the learning that only books can provide is a very emotionally fulfilling ambition. For this reason, these first six books have been developed as part of the aggregate series in Fusion Energy ~ The Public's Guide(TM).

However, as a former pre-med psychology major, Prof. Davis became aware of the fact that not every child has the parental support, brain development, and/or emotional development by age one and one-half to three to be exposed to the notion of "reading" prior to the first grade level of learning.

Prof. Davis has presented the first three of the six books to teach the earliest of students to associate graphics with simple science-oriented words comingled within a very simple story line that she believes provides the early learning child a premise to begin to form the foundation of more sophisticated words associated with nuclear science. It is intended that these early learning blocks will serve the child further on into later years of understanding in grade school.

For this reason, Prof. Davis believes that these first six books in her Children's Series(TM) will provide a simple foundation for a more formal STEM education in the nuclear sciences and understanding the technologies at an earlier age, that we will surely see coming online in grater volume worldwide, as advanced scientific R&D physicists seek to answer the dilemma of worldwide global warming and climate change.
